A Chrome extension for NYU students that pulls your Albert shopping cart onto a weekly calendar, with Rate My Professors scores attached.
Albert Course Planner is a browser extension for NYU students who'd rather plan classes than wrestle with Albert. It reads your shopping cart, drops everything onto a weekly calendar, attaches Rate My Professors scores to each instructor, and lets you stack courses into priority tiers before registration opens.
It started as a vanilla JS extension and now ships through WXT on top of Vite, with pnpm managing the local toolchain. Content scripts parse Albert's DOM for times, rooms, and instructors. A background worker handles RMP lookups with NYU-specific matching, so a "Smith" in CS doesn't grab the wrong professor, and results are cached so it isn't constantly pinging RMP. The calendar does conflict highlighting, drag-and-drop between priority buckets, and a metadata panel for each course. The workflow I wanted was simple: pull from Albert, compare options, see ratings inline, and spot conflicts before they bite.
